Nikunj Malik (born 30 October 1989) is an Indian film actress and TV personality .[1]

Early life & Backgroud

Nikunj hails from a political family. Her mother Shubhlata is an active member of the ruling government BJP's National Executive Council. She is the chief for the State of Delhi- Slum Development.

Her brother Abhigyan singh Malik is a film & television director. He has assisted noted filmmakers like Muzaffar Ali, Shad Ali, Ram Gopal Verma.

Qualificational Backgroud

Nikunj as a child, was always a bright student and wanted to become a doctor.

She is a qualified Fashion Designer. She Graduated from the India's top most fashion design college, the 'National Institute of Fashion Technology' (NIFT) with a specialisation in Footwear & leather Design.

She is recognised by the National Institute of Fashion Technology amongst it's top 15 alumni in the history of 30 years of this institute.

She also cleared the CAT Entrance Exams and was offered a place at the the very prestigious IIM Ahmedabad for a doctorate which she declined.

Nikunj has designed shoes & accessories for brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, Geoffrey Beene, Wills Lifestyle, Lee Cooper, ID and many more.

Career

She first shot to fame with her participation in the Indian reality wedding show called "Rahul Dulhaniya le Jayega", which was aired on NDTV Imagine on 1 February 2010.[2] She ended up as one of the final three contestants on the show.[3] She acted as the parallel female lead on the Star One show Geet hui sabse parayi as Anvesha a.k.a. Any, Maan's spoilt baby sister. She played the negative lead, Maya, in one of the leading shows of star plus - Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai. She featured on Anil Kapoor's Indian replication of the American series '24'.

She has also featured as a guest member on various television dramas like Adaalat, Singhasan Battisi, Shapath, etc. She is also a brilliant host and had been hosting the stage shows and red carpets for star performers like Mika Singh, Shaan, Strings and private events. She also hosted the Cricket World Cup 2015 & IPL 8 for India News.

She has also endorsed the spices brand 'R-Pure' & thermal wear 'Shera'.

[4] Nikunj Malik debuted with Bollywood film Revolver Rani with Kangana Ranaut. She featured in the film 'The Shaukeens', in a friendly appearance. Currently her first Solo film, which is a woman oriented subject based on the struggle of a woman from the rural Bihar is in post- production. This film is slated to release in 2017.

Nikunj is a staunch supporter of women's rights in India and is regularly invited to the news rooms of the country to lend her voice in support of the cause.

Nikunj is also an animal rights activist and her love for animals, both stray & pets, is the reason she is vegetarian and doesn't use leather products. It is also one of the reasons she stopped designing products in leather and now only works with non- leather materials.
