Nine Lives is an upcoming French comedy film directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and written by Dan Antoniazzi and Ben Shiffrin. The film stars Kevin Spacey, Robbie Amell, Jennifer Garner, Christopher Walken, Malina Weissman and Mark Consuelos. The film is scheduled to be released on August 5, 2016, by EuropaCorp.
Plot
Tom Brand (Kevin Spacey) is a major business tycoon, who distanced himself from his daughter Rebecca (Malina Weissman) and his wife Lara (Jennifer Garner). In a rush to get a last-minute gift for his daughter's 11th birthday, he goes to a mysterious pet shop run by Felix Grant (Christopher Walken) and buys a cat. On the way home however, Tom gets in an accident and finds himself trapped inside the cat's body. He is told by Felix he must reconcile with his family within one week or stay as a cat forever.

Production
On January 12, 2015, it was announced Barry Sonnenfeld would direct the film.[7] On January 28, 2015, Kevin Spacey joined the cast.[1] On March 25, 2015, Malina Weissman joined the cast.[4] On March 31, 2015, Christopher Walken joined the cast to play Felix Grant, the owner of a mystical pet shop.[3] On April 9, 2015, Jennifer Garner and Robbie Amell joined the cast.[2] On April 13, 2015, Mark Consuelos was cast in the film.[5] On April 27, 2015, Talitha Bateman was cast in the film.[6] Principal photography began on May 4, 2015, and ended on July 24, 2015.[8][9]
Release
The film was originally scheduled to be released on April 29, 2016, by EuropaCorp,[10] however it was pushed to August 5, 2016.[11]
