The ninth austerity package was a fewer painful measures package than the previous measures packages. It was imported by the government on April 2014 and was approved by parliament on 9 May 2014 with 150 votes for and 119 against.[1][2] It included provisions about Greek economic policy during the four next years. The bill's title was Medium-term Fiscal Strategy plan 2015-2018 and the relevant law is the 4263/2014.

The bill provided freeze of wages and pensions over a period of the next four years, until 2018.[3] Also it provided cuts public sector's expenses[4] such as cuts for the expenses of the Ministry of Health among others.[5] It also provided that the primary surplus in 2014 will be 2.3% GDP (4.19 billion euros) whereas in 2018 will be 5.3% (11.585 billion euros).[3]
