Nita Ambani is the Chairperson and Founder of Reliance Foundation[3] and a non-executive director of Reliance Industries.[4] She is married to Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani.[5] She is also an art collector[6] and owner of Mumbai Indians.[7]
Forbes magazine placed Nita Ambani amongst the most influential 50 women business leaders in Asia.[8]
The Wall Street Journal wrote a piece on her saying "India's richest woman eyes the art of world".[9]
The India Today has included Nita Ambani in the 50 high and mighty Indians for 2016.[10]
Early life
Nita Ambani (nee Dalal)[11] was born on November 1, 1963 in Mumbai[12] to Ravindrabhai Dalal and Purnima Dalal.[13] She completed her bachelors degree in Commerce from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics. She studied Bharata Natyam performed frequently.[14]
Career
Nita Ambani is the founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation,[15] the CSR arm of Reliance Industries. She is also the owner of Mumbai Indians.[16] In 2014, she was elected to the Board of Directors of Reliance Industries.[17]
