Norbord Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of wood-based panels and the world’s largest producer of oriented strand board (OSB). In addition to OSB, Norbord manufactures particleboard, MDF medium density fibreboard and related value-added products. Norbord has assets of approximately $1.7 billion and employs approximately 2,600 people at 17 plant locations in the United States, Canada and Europe. Norbord is a publicly traded company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “OSB”.
Norbord has 11 OSB mills, 2 MDF (medium density fibreboard) plants, 2 particleboard (chipboard) plants, 1 specialty plywood mill and 1 furniture plant.
Its OSB mills in the US are in Minnesota, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina and 2 in Texas. In Canada there are 2 mills in Alberta, 1 in British Columbia, 1 in Ontario and 1 in Québec and in Europe there are mills in Inverness, Scotland and Genk, Belgium.
There are MDF lines in Deposit, New York and Cowie, Scotland.
Its particleboard lines are in Cowie, Scotland and South Molton, England.
Norbord's furniture factory is based in South Molton, England.
