Northcote Central is a suburb of North Shore, one of several cities in the Auckland metropolitan area in northern New Zealand. It is located on the north shore of the Waitemata Harbour.
The population was 8,757 in the 2006 Census, an increase of 618 from 2001.[1]
The Northcote Shopping Centre is anchored by a Countdown supermarket.[2] The Fox Outlet Centre is an outlet mall nearby.[3]
Education
Hato Petera College is a secondary (years 9-15) school with a decile rating of 2 and a roll of 130.[4] It opened as Saint Peter's Catechist School in 1928 and changed its name in 1972.[5] It is a state integrated Catholic Māori school with boarding facilities.[6]
Northcote Intermediate is an intermediate (years 7-8) school with a decile rating of 7 and a roll of 199.[7] It celebrated its 50th jubilee in 2008.[8] Onepoto School is a contributing primary (years 1-6) school with a decile rating of 1 and a roll of 114.[9] It shares a site with Northcote Intermediate.
All three schools are coeducational.
