Northwestern Bank was a US community bank based in Traverse City, Michigan and serving northern Michigan. The bank was one of the leading mortgage, consumer, and commercial lenders in the region and provided universal banking, investment trusts and employee benefit services from 28 offices in northern lower Michigan.[1]
In 2014, Northwestern Bank was acquired by Chemical Bank (Chemical Financial Corporation), based in Midland, Michigan. [2]
