Norwich United Football Club is a football club based in Blofield, Norfolk, England. The club are currently members of the Eastern Counties League Premier Division and play at Plantation Park. The club is affiliated to the Norfolk County FA.

History

The club was established in 1903 as Poringland and District F.C., and initially played in the Norwich & District League, before becoming founder members of the Anglian Combination in 1965. They won the Norfolk Junior Cup in 1979 after beating Bradenham Wanderers 5–2, and again in 1981, beating Wroxham reserves. They also won the Junior League Cup in the same year. In 1982 the club achieved senior status, and won the Anglian Combination Senior Cup in 1984, beating Bradenham Wanderers 2–1.

In 1985 the club moved to the Gothic Social Club. In 1985–86 and 1986–87, the club reached the final of the Norfolk Senior Cup, but lost to Norwich City reserves and Great Yarmouth Town.

In 1987 the club was renamed Norwich United, and in 1988–89 won the Anglian Combination Premier Division, earning promotion to the Eastern Counties League. In their first season in Division One they finished as runners-up, but could not be promoted due to the inadequate facilities at Gothic. The following season they won the division, earning promotion to the Premier Division, which they were able to take as they moved to Plantation Park in Blofield during the summer. They were relegated back to Division One in 1994 after finishing bottom of the division, but returned to the Premier Division in 2002 as Division One champions. They won the Premier Division and League Cup double in 2014–15, and won the Premier Division again the following season.
