Now That's What I Call Music! 28 or Now 28 was released in 1994. The album is the 28th edition of the (UK) Now! series. It was released on vinyl, audio cassette & CD formats. The original, non-remixed versions of both "U R the Best Thing" by D Ream and "Caught in the Middle" by Juliet Roberts were featured on Now 25 the previous year. The original 4 Non Blondes version of "What's Up" featured on that album also, whilst on this album it's the DJ Miko cover of the song.

Now 28 features three songs which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart: "Love Is All Around", "Inside" and Tony Di Bart's "The Real Thing", one of two songs on the compilation with this name.

Now 28 was the final edition to be packaged in the old style 'fat box'. Subsequent editions would use the then new slim style double jewel case, which it still uses at present for all main series editions.
