Noxolo Kiviet is a South African politician, and the Premier of the Eastern Cape from 2009 to 2014. She is the former speaker of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature (2004–2009). She is also a member of the African National Congress.[1][2] In June 2012 Kiviet was rated as the worst performing provincial premier by the Public Service Commission.[3]
Politics
Kiviet became the member of the legislature in 1994. In 2004 she was appointed as a speaker of the legislature. Kiviet succeeded the former premier Mr Mbulelo Sogoni who succeeded the first female premier Ms Nosimo Balindlela. She is the second female to serve as the premier of the Eastern Cape province.
Education
She completed the Bachelor of Administrative (B.Admin) at the University of Fort Hare, B. Admin Honours at the same institution. In 2010 she was one of the notable graduates at the University of Fort Hare, being awarded the Master in Public Administration.
