Nyakibale Hospital, is a private, non-profit, community hospital, in Nyakibale, in the town of Rukungiri, in Rukungiri District, in Uganda's Western Region. This location lies approximately 3 kilometres (1.9 mi), by road, south of the central business district of Rukungiri.[1] Rukungiri lies approximately 400 kilometres (250 mi), by road, southwest of Kampala, the capital of Uganda.[2]
Overview
Nyakibale Hospital is a private, non-profit, rural, community hospital, owned by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kabale. The hospital is accredited by the Uganda Catholic Medial Bureau. The hospital charges fees for treatment, but no one is turned away because of inability to pay. Funding for the hospital is dependent on service fees, donations from within Uganda and overseas, support from the Catholic Church and subsidies from the Ugandan Government.[3]
