Oakland Activities Association
Oakland Activities Association is a Southeast Michigan high school athletics conference. It is made up of 24 schools located throughout Oakland County.
History
The Oakland Activities Association was formed in 1994 with schools from a collection of leagues. A total of 22 schools from the G.O.A.L. (Greater Oakland Activities League), Metro Suburban Activities Association and the Southeastern Michigan Association; plus one school each from the Suburban Athletic Conference and Saginaw Valley League, joined together to form a more geographically-centered league.[1]
Four more schools came over from the Macomb-Oakland Athletic Conference in 1995 and the league has seen a revolving door of schools since then, with three Farmington schools coming on board in 2001 while four schools have since merged to form two larger schools, two schools have since closed and another four schools have left for the Macomb Area Conference and Flint Metro League. In 2010, Oxford came into the league.[2]
