Oaklands College is a further education college in Hertfordshire, England in the United Kingdom, established in 1991.

Profile

Oaklands College is a large general Further Education College. It has campus sites in St Albans and Welwyn Garden City, with a further training provision in Borehamwood. The college offers a wide range of courses covering different sector subject areas including adult and community learning, art, beauty, business, construction, equine studies, engineering, entry level studies, health and social care, hospitality and catering, public services, IT, land based studies, media and performing arts, science and maths and sport. The College also has 14- to 19- and 16- to 19-year-old consortium arrangements with local secondary schools in Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield and St Albans.

The college is well respected with regards to its land based provision, these include Horticulture both Amenity and landscape, Greenkeeping, Equine studies, Animal management and Floristry.

College Sites

History

The college was established by the merger of De Havilland College, Hertfordshire College of Agriculture and Horticulture, and St Albans City College in 1991 when further education in Hertfordshire was reorganised.[1]
