Odd Box Records is a DIY indiepop record label based in London, England. It has been hailed as a "big presence on the indiepop scene."[1]

History

Odd Box was launched in 2009,[2] following the dissolution of earlier imprint Lost Music Records.[3][4] The label has issued a steady and wide-ranging series of albums, EPs and singles since that time including well-received releases by The Wolfhounds,[5][6] Pocketbooks,[7] Sarandon,[8] The Manhattan Love Suicides,[9] Martha,[10] Joanna Gruesome[11] and The Blanche Hudson Weekend,[12] as well as other groups such as The Millipedes,[13] The Humms,[14] The Wednesday Club,[15] One Happy Island,[16] The Smittens,[17] Ace Bushy Striptease,[18] Pale Man Made,[19] Tyrannosaurus Dead[20] and The Ethical Debating Society.[21]

The label also operates as an events promoter as well as organising an annual Odd Box Weekender festival.[22] As such Odd Box is regarded as a lynchpin of the independent music scene in London, alongside other long-established DIY labels such as Fortuna Pop![23]
