Odd How People Shake, released under Rise Records in 2003, is the first album by the mathcore band Fear Before the March of Flames. The album was recorded with Kris Crummett while the band members were still in high school on a budget of $1,500. It was re-released by the band's current label, Equal Vision Records in January 2004.

Song trivia

• "Go Wash Your Mouth, I Don't Know Where It's Been" is based on the movie American Beauty.
• "The Lisbon Girls, Oh the Lisbon Girls" is a reference to the novel and film The Virgin Suicides.
• Sara[h] Goldfarb is the name of the mother in the film Requiem for a Dream.
• "The 20th Century Was Entirely Mine" is a reference to The Devil's Advocate and RMS Titanic. The title is a line from Al Pacino's character, Satan, who loves vanity, and the content of the song is about the vain nature of the ship.
• "Given to Dreams" is supposedly about The General's Daughter, a movie starring John Travolta.
• The band rarely plays any songs from Odd How People Shake live and states on its official website that they absolutely refuse to play "On the Bright Side, She Could Choke". However, they did play an acoustic version of this song in Houston, Texas, which can be viewed on YouTube. The band played "On the Brightside..." in its original form for the first time since 2003 at a hometown show on September 5, 2008.
