Jim Coles (born ca. 1980), professionally known as Om Unit, is a London-based electronic producer and DJ known for his work in electronic music and drum and bass. Originally producing jungle, he then turned to turntablism under the name 2tall.[3] Om Unit started to get into drum and bass by listening to artists such as Hype, Randal, and Kenny Ken on Kiss radio.[6]
He first released under the name Om Unit in 2010, with the record label Civil Music. The next year, in 2011, he partnered with Machinedrum to create a jungle-based electronic duo.[7] Om Unit also heads his own label, Cosmic Bridge, with the likes of Shigeto, Take, Moresounds, Kromestar and more.[8] He was also selected to be a part of Red Bull Music Academy's class of 2011 in Madrid with Kidkanevil, Kutmah and others.[9][10]
