Omar Ayub Khan was born January 26, 1970 to an influential Hindko speaking family of Hazara region, is a former Minister of State for Finance in Pakistan. He was elected as a Member of the National Assembly from constituency NA-19 Haripur as a candidate of PML (N) in the 2013 elections. [1]

Education

Omar Ayub received his early education from Army Burn Hall College. He received his Bachelors and Masters in Business Administration from George Washington University, USA.

Career

Omar Ayub served in the cabinet of ex-Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and tried to bring about changes in the economic situation of the country. The Real GDP growth at the time he took over was recorded at a healthy 6.2% for the fiscal year 2005–06

Family

Omar Ayub Khan’s father, Gohar Ayub Khan, is a former Foreign Minister of Pakistan and his grandfather, General ('Field Marshal') Muhammed Ayub Khan, was President of Pakistan from 1958–1969.

He is the son-in-law of former federal minister Anwar Saifullah Khan and his wife is a grand-daughter of former Pakistani President Ghulam Ishaq Khan.
