Omni United Pte. Ltd is a tire manufacturer and distributor headquartered in Singapore. The company designs and produces tires in partnership with manufacturers based in the United States, China, India, Indonesia and Thailand. Omni United owns the Radar and Corsa brand names, and markets, sells and distributes several other brand names. The company was founded in 2003 by G.S. Sareen, who prior to founding Omni United, was an entrepreneur in the e-commerce industry .[1] Omni United sells in excess of 6.5 million units of passenger and light truck tires a year in 80 countries.[2] The company has been called the ‘IKEA of Tires' and currently sells more than two million units of passenger and light truck tires a year in the United States.

Omni United began contributing to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation with its ‘Mobilizing Hope’ campaign[3] partnership in 2011. The company entered into motorsports with its Radar Tires brand in 2013. In November 2014, the company launched Timberland Tires, a partnership with apparel and footwear company Timberland Tires, to create the first tires ever purposely designed to be recycled into the outsoles of Timberland footwear when their life on the road is complete. [4] In October 2015, Omni United acquired Interstate Tire Distributor (ITD), a California-based wholesaler with six locations in four Western states. [2]

Brands

Radar Tires is the flagship brand of Singapore-headquartered Omni United.

Omni United sells products for passenger car, SUV, trailer, winter and commercial tires under seven main brand names:

Radar Tires

The Radar Tires brand is owned by Omni United and was launched in 2006. The brand includes opening price point passenger car, SUV, trailer, farm/agriculture, OTR, winter and commercial tires.

Radar Tires also manufactures the Sear's Guardsman brand tires, evident by the product warranty.[5] The company also manufactures Tensor Tires, sold and marketed by Method Wheels.

Timberland Tires

Timberland Tires was born out of a collaboration between tire designer and manufacturer Omni United and global lifestyle brand Timberland.[6] Positioned at the premium end of the market, with estimated 50,000 to 80,000 mile warranties, and offering superior performance and safety on the road, Timberland Tires is the first brand purposely designed and created with sustainability in mind.[7] The tires feature a rubber formulation that is appropriate for the recycling of the tires at the end of their useful life into outsoles for Timberland® shoes, rather than alternatives such as being used as tire-derived fuel, being exported to countries where new tires are unaffordable for many or ending up in landfills.[8]

35 sizes of the Timberland Cross and 30 sizes of the Timberland A/T are currently available through select dealers across the United States and through an ecommerce site at www.timberlandtires.com. [9]

Goodride

Goodride tires are manufactured by China's largest tire manufacturer, Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Company. In 2011 it was the tenth largest tire maker in the world, with $4.26 billion worth of sales.[10] Omni United has exclusive rights to the sales and marketing of the Goodride brand in the United States.

Interstate Tire Distributor

ITD was founded in Los Angeles in 1963. The company currently has six locations — three in Southern California and one each in Arizona, Nevada and Utah — servicing 2,500 tire retailers throughout the western United States. [11]

Commitment to Sustainability - Radar Tires and Timberland Tires

President, CEO & Founder G.S. Sareen is highly committed to sustainable business practices. His Radar Tires' branded products were declared Carbon Neutral in October 2013, after a two-year project with Ernst & Young to study the brands global carbon emissions.[12] This certification is the result of a twelve-month effort to measure the company’s Radar Tires brands’ global carbon footprint in accordance with certification standards. The company is currently purchasing carbon credits, supporting wind energy projects in Germany, to offset it's emissions.[13]

With the November 2014 launch of the Timberland Tires brand, Omni United announced a take back and recycling program to convert worn Timberland Tires into new outsoles of Timberland footwear. Liberty Tire Recycling will collect worn Timberland Tires after they have been changed out at authorized Timberland locations and sort the tires at its consolidation centers.[14] From there, the used tires will be shipped to a North American tire recycling facility where they will be recycled into crumb rubber and further processed into sheet rubber for use in Timberland® footwear. The rubber will be mixed into an approved compound for outsoles that will ultimately be incorporated into Timberland® boots and shoes.[15]

Mobilizing Hope Campaign Partnership with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Since beginning partnership, the company has donated a total of $800,000 USD to the cause. Money has gone to support the research of Jack Cuzick, PhD, John Forbes, MB BS; FRACS, AM and Richard R. Love, MD, MS. The most recent Radar Tires [Omni United] award went to Dr. John Forbes and Dr. Jack Cuzick for their research to identify risks for individual women, who have a very high or very low chance of getting breast cancer based on testing of molecular markers.[16]

Since 2011, Radar Tires has supported The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) with the The Radar Tires [Omni United] Award.[17][18] The same year, the company released a "Ring of Hope" tire, a limited edition pink-walled version of its Radar RPX 900 .[19]

Motorsports

Johnson/Majesky won the Class 10 Baja 500 in the Radar Tires buggy in the company's maiden year in Motorsports.

In 2013, Radar Tires entered into the off-road racing and motorsports world in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS), SCORE International Desert Series and TORC: The Off Road Championship. In these three series, the company participates in short-course off-road desert racing and long course desert racing.[20] Radar’s inaugural season featured the brand’s Renegade R5 M/T tire. The team was led that year by driver Mike Johnson. Johnson competed in the LOORRS Pro Lite Unlimited class and Score International series in a Class 10 Buggy. The Radar Team took an inaugural motorsport win for Radar Tires at the Mojave Off Road Race on New Year’s. Radar Tires and Mike Johnson also won the Class 10 at the SCORE International Baja 500.[21]

The company has since expanded both its desert and short-course teams to take multiple wins and podiums in various series.
