Only Much Louder is a management company for Indian music groups.

Early years

Before the company started officially, Vijay Nair, the director and co-founder of Only Much Louder used to manage acts for Indian bands and worked with an Indian Indie music portal Gigpad.com. After dropping out of college at the age of 18, he started managing popular bands like Pentagram and Zero. This is when he met Girish 'Bobby' Talwar, the bassist of Zero. Together they founded Only Much Louder entertainment private Ltd. in 2002.[1]

The company expanded later from an artist management company to starting an indie music label called Counter Culture Records, a production house and a live events division. OML organizes the popular music festivals NH7 Weekender and Eristoff Invastion in India every year. It manages about 60 bands and has brought artists like David Guetta and The Prodigy.[2] Chernin Entertainment's Asian branch acquired a stake in OML in April, 2012.[3]

Divisions

OML operates as a diverse company with several divisions that handle specific activities. Divisions include Festivals, The Syndicate, Babblefish productions, and NH7. All of these are headed by different people. While the Festivals division looks after NH7 Weekender and other festivals they organize, The Syndicate is the artist management and booking agency arm of OML.[4] Babblefish productions is the content development division that produces documentaries, music videos, digital shorts and T.V shows. It was started in 2008 and produced The Dewarists and Sound trippin' , a music show hosted by Sneha Khanwalkar on MTV.

Counter Culture Records

Counter Culture Records is an independent record label started by OML, mainly to release the music produced by the artists they managed. Since its inception, it has produced music for Pentagram, Pin Drop Violence, Shaa'ir and Func and The Raghu Dixit Project.[5]
