Only Sisters Can Do That is the fifteenth and final studio album to date by The Pointer Sisters, released in 1993 on the SBK label.

History

Only Sisters Can Do That is the last Pointer Sisters studio album made with founding member June Pointer: Issa Pointer, who would replace June Pointer in 2002, performed as a background vocalist on two album tracks (Issa Pointer is the daughter of longtime group member Ruth Pointer). The album was helmed by producer Peter Wolf and led by the single "Don't Walk Away" featuring Michael McDonald was featured guest vocalist: the track's lead vocalist Ruth Pointer had recently recorded a version of the song for an abandoned planned solo album project. [2] Other songs of note include "I Want Fireworks" and "Tell It to My Heart", which were both co-written by Anita Pointer, and the title track, penned by the sisters. The track "Feel For the Physical" appeared on the album Souled by Thomas Anders reworked as a duet by the Pointer Sisters and Anders. Despite critical accolades, the album proved to be a commercial disappointment.
