The Opel Gran Turismo Coupé Concept, abbreviated as Opel GTC Concept, is an Opel concept car which was speculated to be a hypothetical Opel Vectra coupé. The GTC premiered at the 77th Geneva Motor Show. The Opel GTC is a grand tourer alongside the Opel Flextreme GT/E.

Specifications

The GTC is powered by a turbocharged 2.8 L (171 cid) V6 engine from the High Feature family, also used in the standard Vectra, but tuned in the GTC to produce 300 horsepower (220 kW) and 295 ft-lb (400 Nm) of torque. The base and floorpan came from a General Motors Epsilon II platform but was modified for all-wheel drive to apply the power effectively. The car was capable of 0-100 kilometres per hour (62 mph) in 6.0 seconds and a top speed of 250 kilometres per hour (160 mph).

Influence

The Opel Vectra went out of production in 2009. Design cues of the Opel GTC were used on the Opel Insignia, an upmarket replacement for the Vectra. However, a coupé version of the Insignia will not be available.
