Operation Destruct is a 1969 spy novel by Christopher Nicole written in the context of the Cold War and contests in international espionage between the West and the Soviet Union.
In his first novel, British intelligence assigns Agent Jonathan Anders to investigate the death of another of their agents aboard a Russian trawler. When Anders gets there, he becomes involved in a contest against the Russian agents, survives an attempt on his life, and becomes aware of a Soviet plot to poison a lot of people.
