Origin (Objectifying Rehabilitation Initiatives to Generically Impact Nurturance) is an internationally active Non-Governmental Organization that helps to improve the education, health and protect women rights in Pakistan. The health facilities are provided especially to the vulnerable group of women and children through provision of affordable or free medical services by setting up medical camps in area of need. The Origin started with 10 founder members initially who become the board members of the Non-Governmental Organization as well when it got registered with the Government in 2009. The organisation formed in 2007 by Jahangir Wasim and worked 2 years with three members on their own. Origin has never raised any fund till 2011 and help the people from the contribution board members made from their personal funds.

Objectives

The Origin have various objectives including provision of health and education facilities to the people who are vulnerable . The organisation also arranges campaigns for health awareness and to prevent HIV and Hepatitis B and C. Origin is also working for the prevention of child abuse and women rights.[1] The basic motto is to improve CPI (Community Physical Infrastructure).

Focus

Health

In the health sector Origin CDO teams are working on Reproductive health services, health education and campaigns for health awareness and diseases which can be prevented by taking small steps.[2]

Gender

The Origin started working on gender awareness and to prevent discrimination caused by gender differences. Origin helps arranging campaigns for gender awareness.

Mission

ORIGIN mission is to facilitate the process of sustainable community development through a set of services in sector of water, sanitation, education and human resource development with special focus on women and children. It envisage to provide basic amenities to people in underserved areas of province, undertake initiatives for sustainable income generation opportunities for people through community participation for poverty alleviation, create equal and equitable environment both for women and men to participate in development process and promote peace and harmony for betterment of society.

Notable Activities

Hotona with Origin Community Development Organisation has started Fight Club, broadcasting from Germany. the revenue which will be generated by the Fight Club even will go for the betterment of the countries affected by the war against terrorism.[3] In 2010 Origin was one of the sponsor for HIV/Aids awareness campaign organised in Balochistan Boys Scouts building all the student nurses and people from other NGOs including Save The Children's provincial manager Dr. Fahim Afridi also participated. From 2011 August Origin will sponsor full education expenses of the selected students who have abilities to learn but do not have the funds. This event will be sponsored on self finance bases and no third party is sponsoring any part except Pearl Institute of Management and Information Technology, Pearl will wave off the 25% of the total fee of the students came on Origin Scholarships.[4]
