Promotion Osaka Pro Wrestling

The Osaka Pro Wrestling Owarai Championship is a title contested in the Japanese professional wrestling promotion Osaka Pro Wrestling. It was created 2008 when Kanjyuro Matsuyama declared himself the first Owarai Champion upon vacating the Osaka Meibutsu Sekaiichi Championship.

Being a professional wrestling championship, it is not won via direct competition; it is instead won via a predetermined ending to a match or awarded to a wrestler because of a wrestling angle. There have been eighteen reigns by twelve wrestlers with two vacancies. The first vacancy came when Miracle Man vacated the title to defend the Osaka Pro Wrestling Tag Team Championship and the second when Tigers Mask left Osaka Pro. The current champion is Ebessan III, who is in his third reign as champion.
