Ostrov Bolshevik (Russian: о́стров Большеви́к, pronounced [ˈostrəf bəlʲʂɨˈvʲik]) is an airfield in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, and is the fourth most northernmost airfield in Russia. It was probably constructed around 1960,[2] and is among several very large trans-polar airfields for Russia's strategic bomber force that were either abandoned during construction or served limited use.[2] It may have been abandoned during the mid-1960s as Russia's deterrence force shifted from bombers to ICBMs.[2]
