History
Opened 14 June 1855

Ottignies is a railway station in the town of Ottignies, Walloon Brabant, Belgium. The station opened on 14 June 1855 on the Lines 139, 140 and 161.

The station is an important railway junction, and an example of a wigstation. It lies along railway line 161 and at the ends of railway line 139 (Leuven) and railway line 140 (to Marcinelle). South of Ottignies stroke line 161D goes to Louvain-la-Neuve-Université.

On 30 March 2000 a new station building was inaugurated. It replaced the old station building that was already there since 1884.

In 2007 this was the busiest station in Wallonia after Namur and Liège-Guillemins. In the Belgian arrangement comes in eighth place.
