Otto Chowanetz (24 October 1919 – 17 March 1943) was a Feldwebel (Staff Sergeant) in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a posthumous recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Chowanetz went missing in action, presumed killed in action, on 17 March 1943.
