OUGRI is the annual CULTURAL and TECHNICAL festival of National Institute of Technology, Manipur
It was started in 2013 by the third year students(First batch B.Tech students) of NIT Manipur and it is celebrated towards the end of March every year just after the yaosang (holi) festival. It is one of the biggest festivals in Manipur, India


Meaning of Ougri

  It is a part of the song depicting the first human civilisation. It is also sung as a song devoted to the Gods and Goddesses. Also known as “ Leiroi Nongloi Esei”. Its origin is unknown but it is believed that during the coronation of the first king of Manipur ‘Ibudhou Pakhangba’ Ougri was sung.Till today during “Lai Haraoba” there is a tradition of performing “Ougri Hangen Chongba” by the priests and priestesses as a part of the devotional activities, also known as “Thabal Chongba”.

OUGRI 2016 The National Institute of Technology, Manipur presents its fourth edition of OUGRI 2016, the cultural and technical festival of our institute which will be held from 31st March to 3rd April 2016, a four day extravaganza setting the stage for an unprecedented feat in the field of technical art intertwined with the cultural diversity.

With the theme 'Carnival of Serenity' at its heart, the fest will be a great opportunity for aspirants to cultivate their passion and seek the necessary. Extending from technical dimension to cultural spaces, OUGRI brings you competition and events which includes technical quiz, Lan-gaming, dance competition, bug me not debugging, battle of bands, fashion parade and much more with capativating talks from various personalities.
