The Oxford Exchange is a strip mall located in Oxford, Alabama. The center has more than 32 stores and restaurants. It opened in July 2006.
Sam's Club controversy
The possible construction of a Sam's Club led to a major controversy in 2009 for many in the area—and around the U.S. and the world—because dirt for the site of the hoped-for store was being taken by a city-directed, non-governmental development company from a hill crested by a 1,500-year-old Native American mound.[1]
New Publix store
It was announced that there will be a Publix supermarket built across from the Exchange on Leon Smith Parkway.
Publix opened in Spring of 2013.
