People's Education Society Institute of Technology, Bangalore South Campus or PESIT South Campus ( formerly called the PES School of Engineering or PESSE) is a private co-educational engineering college on Hosur Road, Bangalore, India.[3] PESIT South Campus was established in 2005 and is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

History

PESIT South Campus is managed by the People's Education Society (PES), which was founded in 1972, in a rented gymnasium in Bangalore, with around 40 students. P.E.S. currently manages over 45 educational programs in Karnataka and neighboring Andhra Pradesh focused on four main educational areas: Engineering, Medicine, Management and Life Sciences. [4] PESIT South Campus, is the most recent addition to the PES family of educational institutions and received AICTE approval in 2005.

Campus

PESIT South Campus is located on Hosur Road and is about a kilometer from Electronic City. Located in the IT capital 7 India-Bangalore, PESIT South is the first academic campus on the IT Corridor of Bangalore City.

Academic profile

Admission criteria

PESIT South Campus admits students to undergraduate courses on basis of their merit in the Karnataka CET or in the COMED-K undergraduate test(COMEDK UGET). Students are also admitted through a management quota, which does not place any merit requirements. There is a lateral entry scheme in place, by which students holding diploma degrees can enter directly to the second year of study in engineering. Students, upon graduating, receive a Bachelor of Engineering degree.

Clubs

Aero PESIT-BSC

Aero-PESITBSC, the Aero Design Club at PESIT-BSC design, fabricate, and test micro unmanned aerial vehicles. Team Avions is a subgroup of Aero-PESITBSC that officially represents PESIT-BSC at various national and international aero-desin competitions.

They participated for the first time in SAE Aerodesign East 2013 (Micro Class) held at Fortworth, Texas and was placed 14th overall.[6] More recently, Team Avions was placed second overall SAE Aerodesign West 2014 (Micro class).[7]

The PESIT South Campus also houses an interim campus of the Azim Premji University located in the Pixel Park block.
