PF Tek

Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms grown using the PF Tek

PF Tek is a method of mushroom cultivation pioneered by Robert McPherson, aka Psylocybe Fanaticus. This technique (tek) utilizes organic rye berries[original method when he made his first pamphlet] Years later he changed his method to include brown rice flour. vermiculite, sterilized in half pint wide mouthed canning jars by boiling or pressure cooking, his first manual idea was to use a rice steamer (which can work), along with a layer of dry vermiculite as a filter agent to keep out competing bacteria and fungus contamination. The sterilized "PF jar" is then injected with a solution containing spores and water from a syringe, creating a one step procedure for reliably growing mushrooms indoors.
