Convoy PQ 2

Convoy PQ-2 was the third of the Arctic Convoys of World War II by which the Western Allies supplied material aid to the Soviet Union in its fight with Nazi Germany. The Convoy sailed from Liverpool on 13 October 1941 and arrived at Archangelsk on 30 October 1941.
Ships
This Convoy consisted of 6 merchant ships and was escorted by:-
- Cruiser HMS Norfolk
- Destroyers HMS Icarus and HMS Eclipse
- Minesweepers HMS Seagull , HMS Speedy (14 - 30 Oct 1941), minesweeper HMS Bramble (17 - 30 Oct 1941).
Escorted ships convoy PQ-2 in the coastal waters of the USSR (29 - 30 Oct 1941)
- Minesweepers HMS Gossamer , HMS Leda , HMS Hussar
- Destroyers Uritski, Valerian Kuybyshev.
