They are most known for their viral song "Boss Ass Bitch", which garnered the attention of the public and scored them a record deal with Capitol Records in January 2014.[1]

Career

2012–13: Early years and "Boss Ass Bitch"

PTAF came together at Crenshaw Charter,[2] It was released 9 May 2012 accompanied by a music video. The music video was filmed in front of a silver gate at the school SEA CRENSHAW. On 29 March 2014, PTAF joined VEVO and released a more updated music video; The members changed their looks, sported new colored hair. Originally the girls were going to say, "I don't like that bitch" repetitively but used "boss" to promote female empowerment.[3]

2014: Record deal

After PTAF was signed with Capitol Records, Nicki Minaj released a remix of their viral video that was popular from the phone app Vine "Boss Ass Bitch" via SoundCloud[4] When Minaj used the beat, Devon DeVoe' Reed, of DeRe Entertainment, their previous producer, released the single "Do Yo Shit". The girls won Best Hip Hop single at the Underground Hip Hop Awards. Their song was use on "Being Mary Jane " on October 20th episode. [5]

Personal life

Since making their viral video, all of the members have graduated high school. Kandi, Alizé, and K'Duce are mothers of two young children.[6]
