Andhra Mahila Sabha was founded by Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh in the year 1937; it is a leading voluntary service organization in the country. It has been serving the community for over 75 years. Andhra Mahila Sabha is registered as a Society under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act and as a Public Trust bearing No.1151\1948. The sabha is managed by an elected Executive Committee consisting of eminent persons. The Institutions run by Andhra Mahila Sabha cater to woman care, child care, senior citizens care, care for the disabled, health care and education. In education, Andhra Mahila Sabha runs high schools, colleges and professional educational institutions.

Andhra Mahila Sabha – P. Obul Reddy Public School was started by Andhra Mahila Sabha as Andhra Mahila Sabha Vidyalaya in 1989 in Jubilee Hills in a two room tenement quarter. The school had a humble beginning with a student strength of 30 from LKG to Grade 3 with 3 teachers. Later, the school was relocated to the present site of 5.25 acres provided by the Jubilee Hills Co-Operative House Building Society Limited, in an elevated location with a panoramic view of twin cities. This is an English medium, Co-Educational, Senior Secondary School affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.

Sri P. Obul Reddy, well known philanthropist, ardent supporter of Carnatic music and industrialist was the major donor after whom the school was subsequently named.

The school over the years grew from strength to strength to the present stature. Today it has a student strength of 2800 and staff strength of 120 supported by 40 office and subordinate staff.
