Paeonia clusii is found only on the islands of Crete and Rhodes (ssp. rhodia). It has a large fleshy root.[1] It also has pinkish-purple stem up to 30 cm long and glaucous dissected leaves. The scented flowers are white and up to 12 cm in diameter. P. clusii blooms in mid-spring.[2]
