The Pakistan Cave Research & Caving Federation. PCRCF formed on 14 August 1997 is a non-profit national constituent governing body for underground exploration, research, and conservation of caves in Pakistan and adjacent areas. It represents all those persons and groups with a genuine interest in caves, karst and associated phenomena, whether from a strictly sporting viewpoint, a scientific viewpoint, or a combination of both to promote the study of caves and associated phenomena for protection of the Natural Heritage of Pakistan and International Speleological Community.

It attains through close liaison with its member Associations by supporting cave & karst research; by encouraging original exploration and organising educational, scientific, Speleological sports and cave rescue conferences and expeditions. PCRCF is member country to UIS (Union de International Speleology),[1][2] through its founder and President Hayatullah Khan Durrani, Chairman Malik Abdul Rahim Baabai and media officer Mohammad Abubakar Durrani.

History

In 1990 a group of Chiltan Adventurers went in to Kach Mountains Balochistan on the invitation of some local people on abet, they explore, searched a small cave in the middle of vertical rock, Formally to further develop Cave exploration sports, Education cave mapping, surveying, Research and finding new caves, the idea of an official Pakistan Cave Research & Caving Federation was discussed with the Orpheus CC official and representative of British Cave Research Association Simon James Brooks during his visit to Pakistan (1991,92,94) on the Invitation of Pakistan's Most popular Mountaineering and caving Association (Chiltan Adventures Association) keenly working for the promotion of Mountaineering sports and mountain related Adventures activities in Pakistan also stand as first Cave Exploration Organization in country.the Headquarters of PCRCF is based in Quetta.

Caving is vast field therefore it was decided By some caving friendly Chiltanies to establish a separate Federation for caves and caving associated phenomena in Pakistan and adjacent areas,On 14 August 1997 some officials and members of Chiltan Adventurers Association Balochistan officially announced the formation (Establishment) of Pakistan Cave Research & Caving Federation. (The first and only one Federation for caving whether from a strictly sporting viewpoint, a scientific viewpoint, or a combination of both to promote the study of caves and associated phenomena for protection of the Natural Heritage of Pakistan and International Speleological Community in Pakistan).
