Palapathwela ( Sinhala:පලපත්වෙල, Tamil:பலாபத்வெல ) is a village in Sri Lanka. It is located within Matale District, Central Province. Palapathwela is 8 km away from Matale Town. The Kandy-Jafna main road (A-9 road) runs through Palapathwela. The population of the town, according to the 2012 census, was 1,989.
