Palmchip Corporation is a technology company headquartered in Temecula, California. The company is best known for its system on chip platforms, although it also designs, licenses and sells software.
History
The company was founded in 1996 as 'Palmchip Corporation'. The word Palm in Palmchip is an acronym for "(integrated) processor, analog (interface), logic, and memory".
The company's Silicon Valley offices were opened in 1996 while its Colorado, Boston, and Austin offices opened in 1998. Palmchip Corporation also had offices in Lahore and Islamabad, Pakistan.

Operations
A characteristic feature of Palmchip SoC platforms is their low electric power consumption and high performance, which makes them particularly suitable for use in portable devices.[2] Palmchip platforms are used in mobile phones, including some articles manufactured by Panasonic and Motorola. Palmchip platforms are also used in current DVD players.[3]
