PalmerSport

PalmerSport is a corporate driving event created in 1991 by Jonathan Palmer, ex-F1 driver and Chief Executive of MotorSport Vision. PalmerSport is based at Bedford Autodrome, a purpose-built motorsports venue created by Jonathan Palmer in 2000.[1] PalmerSport moved to the circuit in July 2000, having previously been based at Bruntingthorpe race track.

PalmerSport runs between March and December, and caters for participants of any ability (though age limits do apply).[2] The operators claim it to be "the best corporate driving event in the world", on the basis of their purpose-built facility, high-performance selection of cars (some completely exclusive and all specially modified) and rigorously selected instructors. PalmerSport has attracted very positive reviews from a number of guests, enthusiasts[3] and media like Autotrader[4] and Nuts magazine.[5] The PalmerSport company themselves claim (from end-of-day questionnaires) that over 95% of their customers say they are "very keen" to attend again.

PalmerSport is capable of hosting up to 120 guests each day, and exclusive events can be booked for large groups.[6]

Bedford Autodrome

Bedford Autodrome is built on the northern section of the former site of the Royal Aerospace Establishment, Bedford airbase. It was designed to be driven by high performance road cars and as such has larger than usual run off areas. It does not have sections of Armco safety barriers which would potentially damage a car if it left the track. Because the track has no Armco it is not eligible to hold races there or have an area for spectators because of the inability to ensure their safety [8]
