Panaque bathyphilus [1] is a described species from the Loricariidae family of South American armoured catfish. The holotype of the species was collected in the Solimões river, upstream of its confluence with the Purus river.[1] This species has been known in the aquarium trade, at least since 1992,[2] as 'Papa Panaque' and also under the L-number code as L090.[3]
