The Panther Intaglio Effigy Mound is located in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.[1] GPS Coordinates: 42° 55.511′ N, 88° 51.27′ W. Address for GPS 1236 Riverside Dr, Fort Atkinson, WI
History
The site was discovered in 1850 by Increase A. Lapham. It was excavated by Native Americans around 1000 A.D. and is the only known intaglio effigy mound in the world.[2]
