Parikh
Parikh is a widely used last name amongst Indian Hindu people meaning "assayer" in Gujarati or "examiner" or more generally a diamond examiner in Sanskrit and commonly belongs to the merchant class of Bania (Hindi) or Vanika (Sanskrit).. However, it can also be seen in the Jain and Swaminarayan religions, which were also founded in India.[1] The Oswal and Porwal Banias have clans called Parekh. Parikh's generally belong to the Vaishya Hindu caste. People with this surname include:
