Parliament of Jura
The Parliament of Jura (French: Parlement du Jura) is the legislature of the canton of Jura, in Switzerland. Jura, styled a 'Republic and Canton', has a unicameral legislature. The Parliament has 60 seats, with members elected every four years.
In the last election, on 22 October 2006, saw the Christian Democratic People's Party retain its plurality. The Social Democrats (13 seats), classical liberal Free Democrats (11 seats), and Christian left Christian Social Party (9 seats) remained the second-, third-, and fourth-largest parties. The national conservative Swiss People's Party and communist Swiss Party of Labour won three seats each, while the Green Party competed for the first time, winning two.
