Parteš (Serbian Cyrillic: Партеш, Albanian: Partesh) is a town and municipality in the District of Gjilan of Kosovo.[lower-alpha 1] The municipality is inhabited exclusively by ethnic Serbs (2011 census). It is located 8 km (5 mi) south-west of Gjilan.

  1. 1 2 Kosovo is the subject of a territorial dispute between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia. The Republic of Kosovo unilaterally declared independence on 17 February 2008, but Serbia continues to claim it as part of its own sovereign territory.
