Party At The Top Of The Hill is a single released in 1989 by the JJ Boys. The single is the first recording of John Utlser, Joseph Utsler, and Joseph Bruce. After the single's release, they took on the moniker Inner City Posse, which would later be changed to Insane Clown Posse.

Background

The JJ Boys formed in 1989, and consisted of teenagers Jagged Joe, Kangol Joe, and Master J.[1] The group was created for fun, and the members did not consider pursuing a serious career in music at the time.[1] As a result, they released only one song. Party At The Top Of The Hill was recorded on a friend's four-track tape recorder.[2]

Release

Party At The Top Of The Hill was distributed among friends and family, and was never released for sale.[1] Very few copies were made, and the single is widely considered to no longer exist, even to the members of the group.[1]

Lyrical content

Each verse of the song consists of an individual member describing himself in an exaggerated laudatory manner.[2] The members make mention to Faygo multiple times throughout the song. As Joseph Bruce explains, "the Beastie Boys used to talk about White Castle a lot, Run DMC talked about Adidas. We had Faygo."[2]
