Patrick Joseph "Pat" Hanlon (19 March 1930 - 30 October 2014) was a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly.[1]
Hanlon was born in 1930 to Edward Michael and Elizabeth Hanlon (née Carver).[1] His father went on to be Premier of Queensland from 1946 to 1952.[2]
In 1956 Hanlon won his father's old seat of Ithaca in a by-election to replace the former member Leonard Eastment who had died in July that year.[3] He held the seat till he decided to stand for the seat of Baroona at the 1960 state election. Hanlon remained as member till his retirement from politics in 1974.[1]
Often called the best Labor leader the ALP never had, Hanlon died in 2014.[1]
