Patricia Lewis is a South African singer, actress and television presenter. Her debut album, Don't Tempt Me was released in 1992, and she is recognised as the top-selling female Afrikaans recording artist.[1] She has sold around 600 000 albums to date.[2] She has performed duets with numerous local and international celebrities, including David Hasselhoff,[3] Kurt Darren, Bles Bridges and Jim Reeves.[2] Lewis has also presented a variety of television programmes, including Toyota Top 20, Blonde Ambisie and Supersterre.[4] She was born in Gauteng, where she matriculated from Hoërskool Mondeor.[5] In May 2003, Lewis married Mark Whitfield, with whom she has a son. In 2009, she was diagnosed with cancer,[6] whereafter she retired from public life. After four years, Lewis returned to television as a contestant on the celebrity edition of MasterChef South Africa in early 2015.[7] She was also a contestant on the third season of Strictly Come Dancing in 2007.[2]
