Patti Bacchus
Politician Patti Bacchus, one of BC's Top 100 Influential Women, according to Vancouver Sun, was elected to the Vancouver School Board in 2008 and served as the Chair.
Bacchus is known for advocating for seismic safety, Early Mandarin Immersion, Band and Strings and the ABoriginal Focus School.
She was among the five trustees who voted against passing the 2016 school board budget, creating a landmark situation in which the Province may fire the board.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Bacchus attended public schools, except for a short stint at a private school when her gifted program was cut. She is a graduate of the University of Victoria and Langara College, Patti is married to Lee Bacchus and has a grown stepdaughter and two children.
