Paula Wallace

Paula Wallace is president and co-founder of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and also president of SCAD's sister company, SCAD Group, INC, a for-profit organization.[1]

Education and career

Wallace earned a B.A. degree from Furman University, and M.Ed. and Ed.S. degrees from Georgia State University. She began her career as a teacher in Atlanta Public Schools. Before her appointment as president in 2000, she served as vice president, academic dean, and provost of SCAD. She also directs the university's permanent art collection at the SCAD Museum of Art.[2]

As president, Wallace received the inaugural Elle Décor Vision Award[3], has been appointed Chevalier of the Ordre des Palmes Académiques[4] by the Conseiller Culturel and Consul Général of the French Embassy in the United States of America, and currently serves on the National Advisory Board of the National Museum of Women in the Arts[5] in Washington, D.C.

Wallace was named a 2015 Georgia Trustee in September 2014.
