Peace Burial at Sea were a Newcastle upon Tyne-based four-piece post-rock band, who incorporated electronic textures into their sound together with elements of post-hardcore.[3] They originated from Hexham, Northumberland[4] and released their debut album This Is Such A Quiet Town in 2003, following it up with their self-titled second album in 2006.[5] Their music gained positive reviews, including a rating of 'KKKK' from Kerrang! for their first album, whilst their second record was described by Drowned in Sound as "one of the undiscovered greats of its kind".[6] They played across the UK with such bands as 65daysofstatic[5] and Hell is for Heroes,[7] and gigged abroad in Moscow.[8] Their music also received national BBC radio airplay from John Peel, Zane Lowe and Steve Lamacq.[6]
They split up in 2007.[5]
